Neuville is executing a Technology-to-Market (T2M) digital infrastructure develop, deploy and operate strategy in the electric power sector. A sector undergoing transformative change.
Neuville’s primary market is the electric power sector — the generation, transmission, distribution, storage, management, and consumption of electricity — particularly at medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV). Upon request Neuville will also provide its electrical measurement and data-handling capabilities to other sectors.
With today’s rapidly evolving power grid, utilities and other market players face widespread network challenges that can be addressed with analytical software and technical equipment provided the right grid data can be supplied.
Existing legacy systems are simply not up to the task.
Solve Significant Problems
Industry challenges include: market transitions to a “system operator” models; finding cost-efficiencies; increased renewable energy; electric vehicle charging; energy storage based services; cyber-security; equipment condition monitoring; and related financial investment.
Modern power electronics, solar farms and energy storage systems create phenomena, opportunities, and problems unobservable by existing SCADA equipment. Problems classically overcome through inefficient overcapacity and acceptance of technical limitations.
To help solve these significant industry problems, Neuville will develop, finance, install, operate, and maintain sensor hardware networks across the electric power grid plus develop and manage associated Big Data handling and storage capabilities.
Solar Farm Enhancement
Neuville’s launch market is the UK solar sector where there are over 1,100 utility-scale (>1MWp) solar photovoltaic farms with enormous number abroad. Contract for 8 initial sites have already been reached with an extensive pipeline in development.
By applying Neuville’s proprietary high-resolution condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operational tuning capabilities to a solar farm’s high-voltage “power-train” of inverter-transformer-switchgear, Neuville can provide owners/asset managers information that enables multiple benefits:
• Increase revenues from higher net power generation
• Reduce operating & maintenance costs (O&M)
• Estimated 12-month breakeven for the client
• Help access new revenues – reactive power, grid support, etc.
• Reduce costly unplanned outages/hasten restoration of generation
• Ensure grid code and electricity offtake purchase contract compliance
to avoid penalties
• Improve operational awareness, knowledge of asset condition,
and anticipate equipment failure
• Improve maintenance planning & operational reporting
• Extend useful economic life
• Defer replacement costs
