Open Position – Data Mining Lead
Role – Our Data Mining Lead will be responsible for data mining, fault finding, and fact checking as well as developing the analytical capability of Neuville’s high-resolution, Big Data, grid power monitoring network. We seek step changes in machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithm development. The successful candidate will coordinate, supervise, inspect, and maintain Grid Data operations as well as liaising with relevant teams to ensure that data connectivity is maintained, data is readily available, standardised and detection methods optimized using the state of the art Neuville system at client solar farms and other sites in the UK and abroad. They will work closely with the Head of Hardware R&D, clients, and contractors from site survey and specification through to fully commissioned operation. Achieve on-time, high-quality results in a cost-efficient manner. As Neuville grows, to eventually supervise a team of data analysts for remote and automated fault detection, repair and prevention.
Qualifications/Requirements – Experience with technical programme delivery. Strong demonstrated data mining and machine learning background with core expertise in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronic Engineering and a relevant PhD. Electric power sector data mining experience very much preferred. Some experience of remote electrical fault detection and system monitoring is advantageous. Helpful to have knowledge of electrical power generation, transmission and distribution. Excellent problem solving, independence, interpersonal, and customer facing skills. Familiarity with Java, Python, Matlab and relevant software essential. Technical English fluency required. British citizen or eligible for UK residency.
Organization – Neuville is a start-up and this new role is within the planned Operations Directorate. Initially you will report directly to the Managing Director. Eventually a Chief Operating Officer (COO) will take charge of a growing Operations staff and this position will then report to the COO. It is envisioned that the vital Network Deployment and core Network Operations functions initially combined will divide into two separate roles and that subordinate staff will be hired or outsourced.
This London-based position is partially funded by the EU Commission through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Low Carbon London programme run by London South Bank University (LSBU).
